Don and Cheech's Restaurant Reviewed in the SF Chronicle
(April 24, 2000)
Ana Mandara, the restaurant in which Don and Cheech are major investors, has finally been reviewed by the SF Chronicle Food Editor Michael Bauer in the Sunday Datebook section (page 44) of April 23rd. Ana Mandara received an overall Three Star rating (an Excellent rating) out of a possible four stars. Ana Mandara is located in Ghirardelli Square, a tourist spot at 891 Beach Street (at Polk).
After a pre-emptive assault by NASH BRIDGES (see "Heist" Episode #96) in an episode about a mean restaurant critic who receives death threats, the Chronicle review was extremely kind in its review, full of praise (though with some minor criticisms). The title of the article says it all: "The Majesty of Ana Mandara."
The article also reveals that Don shows up several times a week at the restaurant, and that next fall some scenes for NASH BRIDGES will be filmed there. So Nash fans, this is a likely location to try to catch sight of Don and probably other NB cast members who will dine there.

Breaking News Sections
(04-21) 09:41 PDT LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Television cop Nash Bridges couldn't
have done it any better himself.
Las Vegas police Sgt. Victor Vigna went on two car chases and got his patrol
car rammed, but finally recovered actor Don Johnson's stolen Mercedes Benz.
Johnson is in Las Vegas this week shooting footage for ``Nash Bridges'' at
the Desert Inn hotel-casino.
Vigna first spotted suspect Robert Lee Gibson Tuesday in a stolen car. After
a chase that included the car ramming into Vigna's patrol car, Gibson
allegedly ditched the car and escaped on foot, Lt. Gary Schofield said.
Wednesday night Vigna was again patrolling when he spotted a familiar man
driving another car. This time it was Johnson's stolen black Mercedes S500.
The car had been stolen from the show's set.
``I couldn't believe it myself,'' Vigna said. ``I looked over and there he
was again.''
That started another high-speed chase that ended 30 minutes later when the
Mercedes tried to take a curve in the road too fast and spun over a curb and
into a planter. The Mercedes uprooted a tree and slid about 75 feet before
rolling.
Gibson, 31, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony evading
police and two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was also
charged with one count of battery with a deadly weapon in the ramming of
Vigna's car and one count of extortion.
Johnson's Mercedes was severely damage in the accident.
Hey,
Just wanted to tell you that we were in Las Vegas this week, and we ran into the Nash Bridges film crew.
We ended being asked to be extras, got to meet Cheech. It was awesome!
Cool site!

While in Las Vegas this past week, we saw Nash Bridges being filmed in front
of the
Mirage. What episode will this be?

Don Attends Baseball Opening Day
(April 23, 2000)
Tuesday, April 11th - Giants fan Ron Robinson was jammin' his face full of hotdog at the newly finished Pacific Bell Ball Park, when he turned around and noticed Don Johnson sitting a few rows behind him. Don was among the thousands that eagerly attended Opening Day between the SF Giants and the LA Dodgers.
Don was in the front section behind home plate. Thanks for the info, Ron.

WOW! Jodi Lyn and Jaime P. (Cassidy and Evan) Encounter in SF
(April 15, 2000)
Yes, we received some unconfirmed reports for some time now that Jodi and Jaime are an item. Here's one such sighting, and these fans gave us a nice report.
As to the Evan character, it did look like Evan was on the brink of being written out of NASH BRIDGES, but his character made a comeback. Evan is back on the SIU, and back together with Cassidy.
Thanks Carole R. for your terrific report and nice details.
Hi Gordon,
Today (Saturday, April 8th) we were shopping in San Francisco, and lo
and behold, ran into the character Cassidy (Jody Lyn O"Keefe) at a dress
shop. She looked gorgeous, even better than on the show. She was smiling at
us, but seemed a little unapproachable, so we gave her her space.
We left the shop to meet up with my husband (another big Nash Bridges
fan), and he excitedly told us that he had just seen a character from Nash
Bridges. We assumed that he was speaking of Jody Lyn, but we were wrong. He
saw and spoke with the character Evan (Jaime P. Gomez). It must have been
their day for shopping. Anyway, he was very personable and asked my husband
to E-Mail the show about his character possibly being taken off.
We were absolutely flabbergasted by the thought of Evan (Jaime P. Gomez)
leaving the show. He really adds a lot of charm, charisma, and CLASS to the
show. That particular Cast has great chemistry and I think his leaving the
show would be extremely detrimental. I have seen this happen before with hit
shows like this, they start moving proven characters like Evan around and it
is the beginning of the end.
In my E-mail to them, I indicated my dissatisfaction with the very
thought of removing Jaime P. Gomez and offered suggestions for possible
story-lines. Is there anything else we can do? Can we protest or anything??
I hope they come to their senses, because they are like a family and if this
family starts breaking up, I am afraid the show will be on its way downhill.
If there is anything you can do to influence their decision, please do
it asap.
Thank you in advance for anything you can do to save the show.
Sincerely,
Carole R. (A Very Loyal Nash Bridges Fan)
Tonight Nash on at 9PM instead of 10PM
(April 7, 2000)
Tonight, Nash is on at 9PM instead of the usual 10PM time slot because CBS's new mob drama FALCONE is on at 10PM every day until next Wednesday (skipping Sunday).
Finally - An Update to Nash's Black Book
(April 2, 2000)
It's been a long time since Nash has added to his "Black Book" of sexual conquests, and one just occurred in "Heist." It's been well over two years since the women stopped flowing (aside from Caitlin that is) for Nashman. Our loyal fan Joy takes note in this recent e-mail to us:
I think we are back in business. Just loved Nash with Chase this
week. Can it be that we have our 'sexy' Nash back?
We may be able to update his black book after all.
Still enjoying your website. Say hi to Spencer for me..

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe on the Cover of MAXIM Magazine
(April 2, 2000)
Jodi (who plays Cassidy) is featured as a Maxim cover girl in the April 2000 issue. There's a sizzling photo spread - check it out. We also received this publicity blurb on it, presumably from Maxim Online:
Chat with "Whatever it Takes" star, and Maxim Magazine cover BABE, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, today, March 31st!!! On Maximonline.com at 5 PM EST.
Here's the link: http://www.maximonline.com/live_events/index.asp
She’s baaa…ck! You may remember that we chatted with the beautiful Jodi Lyn O’Keefe back in November. Well, she had such a good time, this star of Whatever It Takes is joining us again on Friday, March 31 at 5 P.M. EST. She’ll tell us about turning 21 and celebrating with tequila, her Jersey roots, and being all that and so much more. Read up on Jodi in the April issue of Maxim magazine (now on newsstands) and at the official Whatever It Takes site.
Yes, There is Really a MirandaCam
(April 2, 2000)
In "Line of Sight" Episode #95, Cassidy's room mate Miranda has her own web site of a camera set up in her dorm room. It's this camera that captures the hot encounter between Cassidy and Evan in "Line of Sight.". The Official site has set up a real mirandacam.com, but don't expect anything voyeuristic. It's a fan site for the actress who plays Miranda. Thanks for dropping us a line, Caspian...
Hey,
On a whim I decided to see if www.mirandacam.com was actually up. It
is. Well, sorta, but it's kinda funny anyway. Don't know if it's
"official" or if someone has too much time on their hands.
