Guest Stars: Andrea Roth, Ken Marino, Morgan Weisser, with Jon Polito and Caroline Lagerfelt.

Nick:...I'm sorry having put you in a position where you have to ask me to move out...
Nash:What? I'm not asking you to move out...Nick, I need you to just be patient for a little bit. She needs to just settle in and, ya know, we kinda all need to get used to each other, and then everything will be peachy, all right?
Nick:Oh, will you ask her to stop eating my rice cakes?

Nash and Joe are on the way to a movie premiere at the Paramount Theater. They meet Caitlin and Inger there. Mexican TV star Lola del Rio pulls up in a limo and walks into the crowd. Lola is shot dead by an unidentified man.

TV cameras at the premiere have captured the shooting on tape. Reporter Shelby Carter wants to air the tape of Todd West shown in the crowd - he is the prime suspect. But Nash negotiates with the TV manager to hold off on airing the tape in exchange for an exclusive when they capture the shooter.

Todd West is a local actor dumped by Lola - a hot Mexican starlet of tele-novellas. West has a restraining order of 500 feet, which he violated by showing up at the premiere. Harvey tracks the gun used in the shooting - a Charter Arms .44.

Meanwhile, Caitlin has moved in to live with Nash. Caitlin has upset Nick by moving out his favorite chair, and bringing in her own furniture. Harvey has been seeing his son Jerry, but mother Anna is still cool towards Harvey. Evan returns to work having lost his left testicle in a self-inflicted shooting mishap. Nash is very chilly towards Evan, since he has cheated on Cassidy.

Todd West eludes Harvey and Caitlin, but Nash and Joe capture Todd after a brief chase in Todd's red Mustang. Caitlin interrogates Todd, but believes Todd to be innocent of shooting Lola. Harvey tracks down the gun dealer who sold the gun used to shoot Lola. The gun dealer does not ID Todd, but describes another person named Ricco.

On TV, reporter Shelby Carter interviews Roland Margolies who has a videotape of the shooting, which he intends to sell to the highest bidder among the TV stations. Nash and Joe show up at Margolies' home with a search warrant, but no tape is found.

Joe has decided not to go to Sweden with wife Inger to see her ill mother. Joe faces a chill at home. Nick deliberately smokes a cigar in Caitlin's chair, and sets the chair on fire. Evan sees Cassidy, but she is still extremely upset with Evan. Roland Margolies is murdered, but his videotape still has not turned up. Caitlin locates the tape in his post office box, which Margolies has mailed the tape to himself.

The killer is shown on Margolies' tape - Todd West identies the shooter as John Temple, a crazed stalker of Lola. Caitlin, Harvey and Evan go to the home of John Temple's mother. Temple runs out shooting, but escapes in a car. He is stopped by police, but not before he shoots a uniformed officer.

Temple runs in a grocery store, taking the clerk hostage. Nash arrives, as does SWAT. Reporter Shelby Carter calls Temple, trying to play negotiator. Temple gets irate, forcing Nash to go inside and exchange himself for the hostage. The hostage is released, but Temple is shot dead by SWAT on Nash's order. Shelby Carter is arrested by Nash and Joe for disobeying police orders - she is also being sued by the hostage.

Nash apologizes to Caitlin for setting her chair on fire and welcomes her. Joe shows up with a guitar, lonely after having dropped off Inger and child Lucia at the airport.
